Have to say, while I don't know a lot about football, I do know that a) Chelsea was doing particularly bad this year in light of their recent success, and b) Jose's joke on Clare Balding's show before his departure today was particularly on point...
Naturally, Balding tweeted today...
Oh what brilliant timing.... And there I was joking this morning that all I needed was for him not to be sacked today! #JoseMourinho

For those of you just plugging in now; Jose and Chelsea agreed (by "mutual consent") that he should be sacked after Chelsea's poor performance this season, which sees them just one point above relegation. According to Football365.com: "Guus Hiddink is the new favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge, while Juande Ramos, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone are also in the running."
Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent. https://t.co/YYJaxxdE36
