San Lorenzo have one very famous fan in the form of Pope Francis, and they intend to pay tribute to him by naming their new stadium in his honour.
San Lorenzo de Almagro are an Argentine Primera Division side who were recently crowned the champions of the Libertadores, South America's equivalent of the Champions League, for the first time in their history. They are also about to build a new stadium in the Boedo region of Buenos Aires, so things are really looking up for them.
They're also famously associated with priests, gaining their nickname los cuervos from the fact that so many men in black attend their games, one of whom for many years was Pope Francis. In honour of him, their most famous fan, they're going to name their new stadium 'Papa Francisco'.
They hope to inaugurate the new ground in 2016, and we're presuming that there'll always be a seat in the house for the man himself. Maybe not a throne, like he's become accustomed to, mind.
