'Love Island' has a lot to answer for.
Now, we're not saying that Ireland's Met Eireann, the UK's Met Office and the Netherlands' KNMI were glued to the show like we were over the summer, but one of the names is suspiciously relevant.
The villa saw Longford's Maura Higgins create a storm when she came in halfway through the series, and 'Maura' is one of the names on the list for this year's winter storms.
All three offices have pooled their resources to come up with the names for the 2019/2020 storm season, with the Netherlands coming on board for the first year. That means names like 'Piet' and 'Gerda' are in the mix alongside the likes of Kitty, Dennis and Vince.
There's also a bit of a contemporary slant to this year's storm names, with Willow, Iris, Noah and Olivia, while Ireland is nicely represented by good ol' Roisin, Ciara, Tara, Liam and Brendan.
