My ears pricked up at EVERY news bulletin yesterday declaring "Joan Collins has been arrested." Then it was followed by the slightly deflating feeling of "Aaaah, that Joan Collins." Then all mental images of Dame Joan Collins being briskly escorted into a police car with her fur stole flying were immediately quashed.
On the upside, the Joan Collins also heard of the news of her namesake's arrest, and her response is suitably fabulous. It's of Alexis Carrington quality.
No I am not the Joan Collins Who was a rested yesterday At a Dublin protest meeting !!! The very idea!!

Some of the best responses to Joan's tweet thus far can be seen below...
@joancollinsobe Every time I see a poster here for a public meeting with 'Joan Collins', I get a little excited. And then deflated.

@joancollinsobe @emmajhade And the woman arrested wants it to be absolutely clear, she did not star in Dynasty.

As for the other Joan Collins' reaction to Joan Collins' reaction...
Ok maybe I wore shoulder pads, there was very little choice in the 80s, but I'd never take an honour from a monarch.

For those interested, United Left Alliance's Collins was later released without charge.
