Newstalk's main man Sean Moncrieff (who is Pat Kenny anyway?) clinched the HIGHLY sought after title of Irish Twitter Head (wrecker) today, in entertainment.ie's annual awards, The Erics. The radio presenter came in with an impressive 45% of the vote, and beat off plenty of tough competition from fellow Twitter head wreckers such as Not the RTE Guide, Amy Huberman and Colm Tobin.
This EXTREMELY prestigious honour is one we decided to bestow on that special tweeter who knows just what to say and when to say it, and can always provoke a reaction. One of the main reasons for Sean's active presence on the social media site is due to his radio show's weekly 'Movies and Booze' hashtag, which always seems to get the whole country tweeting. Sean is a regular tweeter himself with almost 45,000 followers on his page, along with a 'devil-may-care' profile photo of him smoking a cigar. The divil. His little bio underneath says 'Will retweet for cash', he does have a LOT of retweets...
The former presenter of TV shows like 'Good Grief Moncrieff!' and 'Don't Feed the Gondolas' no doubt has many accolades to his name as this stage. However, we are certain that this announcement will be the cream of the crop, the crème de la crème, the FINEST of them... yeah okay we'll stop now, but look it's a big deal alright?
Here he is back in the day, before he took the Twitter world by storm...
