Ouch, we could have done without this.

The European Central Bank has released figures stating just how much personal wealth we all lost out on due to the recession, and it makes for grim reading.

Between 2009 and 2013 Irish citizens lost just over €18,000 per person, which is even further behind Spain at €13,000, and the Greeks at €17,000, with the same reason being given for all, the drop in the property market.

Not every nation were hit as hard however, with some actually gaining funds. Germany saw their national wealth grow by €19,000 per person, while the Netherlands saw a staggering increase of €33,000.

Now, isn't that a great way to ruin your Tuesday?
