Ronaldo (the original one from Brazil) is now 38-years-old and not really in the best shape of his life. Still, he's planning on making a comeback to football.

Despite the fact that he hasn't played since 2011, when he last kicked a ball for Corinthians, the former world player of the year has decided to try and get back in to the game with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League, the second tier of the professional game in the USA.

Ronaldo attended a press conference yesterday, where it was announced that he was now a part-owner of the team, and when the question of him playing cropped up, he didn't deny that he was thinking about it: "I love to play. That was my big love. But when I retired, it was because of my body. I had so much pain and so many injuries. It isn't easy to get fit. I will try. I will train a lot."

There might have been a touch of the tongue in cheek about his response however, as he did add that if the team makes the final "and I'm feeling good, why not?". As part-owner, nobody is going to stop him anyway.

The footballing legend won't be alone in the USA in the upcoming season either, as Raul will also be playing in the NASL with the New York Cosmos, while Kaka is playing at Orlando City and Steven Gerrard has announced that he'll be joining Los Angeles Galaxy. Also there's Frank Lampard, but even he's not sure where he'll be by the sounds of it. Anyway, the skies above will grow dark, as all the stars will be on the field...
