Once again, Conor McGregor brought the world to a standstill this afternoon.
After teasing people with a tweet to announce that he would finally be making a full statement, Twitter waited with baited breadth.
Ok no more games.
I am going to release a statement shortly.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 21, 2016
That tweet had 29k RTs within the hour that followed until he finally delivered on his promise.
The statement was brash, misogynistic and at times hilarious. Pure McGregor. Needless to say the statement got people talking. Here's a roundup of the best reactions:
Some were 100% behind McGregor's reasoning.
Gaining more and more respect for @TheNotoriousMMA as time goes on.

Look, I'm a McGregor fan but you don't get a pass on misogyny, ever. It was a thoughtless swipe at the credibility of women in sports media.

"...get her little tight ass a nice raise," says Conor McGregor. Just to clarify, I gave a f*** and got no raise. Go raibh maith agat.

Coincidentally, there actually is a reporter from Conneticut named Suzie who is going to get a lot more attention as a result of the statement. We sincerely doubt he had Suzie Hunter in mind when he made the comment but it's sure to draw a few chuckles none the less.
Thanks for the shoutout @TheNotoriousMMA pic.twitter.com/hz0YYHDGeA
