Well done, Thailand.
Thailand, one of the world's worst plastic polluters, kicked off 2020 with a ban on plastic bags.
The country has implemented a 20-year action plan to reduce its plastic use.
In its first step, approximately 75 major retailers stopped giving shoppers single-use plastic bags across 25,000 stores nationally.
They're encouraging people to purchase reusable bags instead. However locals have found their own alternate substitutes to single-use plastic bags.
Wheelbarrows, traffic cones, pots and bird cages are some of what shoppers are now using to bring their purchases home.
The pictures on Twitter have been hilarious and inspiring.
