Ted Cruz's staunch Conservative Christian campaign might have picked up steam in recent days thanks to a strong showing in the New Hampshire primaries, however his TV campaign has already hit a false start.
His latest advertisement, which featured a "support group for Conservatives", was pulled by the campaign when it was revealed that an actor had an interesting CV before this latest gig. Amy Lindsay, who was hired for the advertisement, had a background in softcore porn in the early '00s, starring in such projects as The Pleasure Zone, Pleasure Zone: Volume 2, Deviant Whores, Celebrity Sex Tape and Radio Erotica.
She also turned up in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager too.
Anyway, the advertisement was quickly pulled once Cruz's campaign got wind of it and issued a statement on the whole thing, saying that "had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial."
Here's the advertisement in question.
For her part, Amy Lindsay is pretty upset about the fact the advertisement was pulled. A Republican herself, Lindsay took to Twitter earlier today to admonish Ted Cruz's campaign.
Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in... @CNN @Foxnews #moretocome #myvotecounts
