Picture the scene... it's a familiar one. Only that - usually - the gaggle of supportive girls surrounding the lady in question in the corner of a bustling party containing an ex don't include Cara Delevingne, Dakota Johnson and Rita Ora.

The Shake It Off hitmaker and her ex-boyfriend Jake - who briefly dated for two months in 2011, before the actor essentially dumped her over the phone just before Christmas - attended the same Golden Globes after party, where he was spotted dancing with many women.

An eyewitness shared: "[Taylor] wasn't dancing. But I saw her grab her friend's hand and repeat, 'We have to go. We have to go.' The four girls (including the aforementioned Cara Delevingne, Dakota Johnson and Rita Ora - although Swift also find time to hang out with Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Lorde and more) were together and Taylor was having a mini meltdown. Cara's arm was around Taylor, calming her down as Rita looked on. They were talking extremely closely." As a group of friends in their twenties tend to do.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old singer - who has also dated the likes of Harry Styles, Joe Jonas and John Mayer - recently admitted that she would have to meet an "astonishing" man to consider dating again because the mere thought gives her a 'partial panic attack'.

She said: "I'm not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I've found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different - a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don't have any kind of idea who I'd want to be with, because I don't have any pieces missing from my life right now. I'm not looking for anything to complete. I think that's a nice place to be."

One of Jake's other ex-girlfriend's - Reese Witherspoon, whom he dated for a couple of years - greeted him with a warm hug upon bumping into him at the ceremony.

According to Us Weekly, "The two stars, who dated from mid-2007 to late 2009, caught up at The Beverly Hilton Hotel amongst other big-name actors. An insider tells Us Weekly exclusively that Witherspoon, 38, and Gyllenhaal, 34, had a moment together during one of the show's commercial breaks. 'Reese paused and hugged Jake Gyllenhaal,' the eyewitness tells Us. 'They looked happy to see each other!'"
