Closing the LA Film Festival last night was a Steven Soderbergh movie that I (and a cast of thousands) are only DYING for. If you've yet to hear about Magic Mike, it's a flick that centres on the intriguing life of male stripping professionals and, believe it or not, it was inspired by star of the movie Channing Tatum's former life as a an 18 year old stripper in Tampa, Florida.

Starring alondside the Tatum who plays the titular Magic Mike is the deep southern Matthew McConaughey (Dallas), Matt Bomer (Ken) whose jawline could put Robert Pattinson out of business and 22 year old star of I am Number Four, Alex Pettyfer (Adam) who also looks like he was carved by ANGELS. I defy you to find a movie more jam packed with greased up six packs (The adult shelves of your DVD stores don't count.) The dreamy Joe Manganiello also stars and his character's name is "Big Dick Richie". Like me, you're probably wondering why in the hell Michael Fassbender is absent from this star sudded cast; if ever a role was more suited to someone's nether region... just sayin.

The premiere was held in the Regal Cinemas L.A. where Tatum along with his missus Jenna Dewan turned out in style. Also there were newlyweds Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves making their red carpet debut as a married couple. Pettyfyer and Bomer didn't appear to have any arm candy lurking around so I'm going to hold out hope they're still on the market. Some day I'll come down off my cloud and stop dreaming that a peasant like myself would ever have a chance with these people. Not today, but some day.

Dresses of a short length were prominent on this red carpet; s'pose floor length ones like this one wouldn't really resonate with the tone of a stripper movie. Cast member Kate Easton opted for a short cream mini, McConaughey's mot went for navy sequins while Tatum's lady friend stuck to the old reliable LBD (also covered in sequins).

Cody Horn who stars as the leading lady also went for black but it seems she lost her hairdryer just as she was getting ready for this event. Either that or she needs to get herself a can of Batiste Dry Shampoo.

Meanwhile, looking classier then all other ladies put together, was One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush.

Magic Mike hits cinemas here on July 11th.
