My, the courts of London are heaving with celebrities of late.
Tara Reid is currently giving evidence regarding how she was glassed in the face by a "psycho" clubber hailing from Tyne and Wear, resulting in a hurty eyeball. And, before you ask, it wasn't Cheryl Cole.
The American Pie actress was celebrating her birthday on November 8th last year when Maryam Hassan attacked her with a smashed wine glass at nightspot Beat in London's West End. She was taken to hospital with a scratched eyeball and cuts, and claims the incident was unprovoked. Maryam was previously unknown to her, but in Tara's opinion, the former appeared to be motivated by jealousy.
According to The Sun, Tara told London's Southwark Crown Court yesterday: "I guess she was not getting any attention. She threw her drink over my chest." Interesting area of choice. Tara then admitted she retaliated by chucking her own drink back at her, shouting, "you whore, you slut".
Despite her onslaught of cliched verbal abuse, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant was "stunned" by Maryam's erratic reaction, saying: "She went crazy, she went psycho like Naomi Campbell." Over to you, Naomi's legal team.
Maryam - who comes from Jarrow, Tyne and Wear, North East England, and works at the Carlton Cole Foundation - has also been accused of launching "a torrent of racial abuse" at doorman Zimzan Lelo as he evicted her from the club.
The 27-year-old denies the charges. The trial trundles on.
