We all know now that the entire line up of Take That are back together, for a year at least, after it was confirmed last week. It now seems that the boys have been approached to perform at the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, avec Robbie of course. The freshly reunited band would play to an audience of about four billion people and could stand to net around £2.5 million. An informal approach is thought to have been made by the Olympic committee three months ago, according to a report in the Daily Mirror. The Games’ artistic directors, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle and theatre producer Stephen Daldry, are believed to be eager to take advantage of the band’s widespread appeal. But a source told the newspaper the deal cannot be sealed until Williams, 36, commits his future to the band. "When rumours surfaced about a possible reunion, the committee immediately added Take That to the long list of possible performers," the source said. "Since Danny and Stephen came on board, this list has been shortened and informal discussions held with the group’s management. At present, Robbie is only on board for a year ... The belief is that this will be a permanent move and he will therefore be available for 2012."

When I first heard these rumours, I thought, 'here we go again, the come back was successful and now it's the dramatic reunion of all five boys, bla bla bla', not that I'm not liking the new material, its considerably better then the old stuff but, this had to be planned. I'm quite cynical when it comes to these shenanigans. I mean, it has to be a little awkward, considering what's happened in the last few years, Robbie didn't even talk to them for a good while after he left. To prove that bygones are just that, the band released this video, via their website, showing the guys 'chilling out' and acting 'casual', it's quite comical really and perfectly staged. But, if they get that amount of money out of one gig, fair play to them, they may as well. Maybe Robbie will re-think and go back for good.
