If you've lived overseas for any length of time, the thing that often makes you more homesick than anything else is the lack of familiar food.

It can be something as simple as trying to find half-decent chocolate - a serious problem in the US, as many will know - or even just trying to find regular tea and not green tea or chai tea. A study by Checkout Magazine found that butter - specifically Kerrygold Butter - was the most-missed food of Irish emigrants.

A whopping 53% said they missed it, and unsurprisingly, Tayto was the second most-missed food of Irish emigrants. Meanwhile, Barry's Tea was voted the most-missed of tea brands, narrowly edging out Lyon's.
