Steve Martin has become a father, and for the first time would you believe, at the not exactly ripe but also not spring chicken age of 67. The film star and comedian apparently 'welcomed a baby into their lives' in December, but kept it all hush hush until this week when they were spotted doting over the tot near their LA home.
'Steve's very private' quoth a source to the New York Post, saying 'They are thrilled. They worked hard to have a baby.'. The other half of this 'they' is Martin's 41 year old wife Anne, who married in 2007 after three years together. Notoriously secretive even then, guests, who included Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton, did not know the couple were getting hitched and instead thought they had been invited to a party. And even up until today very few people knew a baby was on the way. 'They've had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows.'. No one from camp Martin has yet to make a comment on the news either, so safe to say that secrecy won't be changing anytime soon.
67 eh? Nice to know age has slowed him down. Is it safe to say he more than likely won't end up being Father of the Bride (or groom) now, seeing as by the time the child is 18 Steve will be 85? Not that no one lives to be 85, but we're just being realistic here. He's going to be doddery before the kid hits their teens. Hopefully we'll find out a name/gender before then.
