Thanks for the confirmation that the world is still a breeding ground for scumbuckets, 2015. We didn't really need you to but this pretty much confirms it.
According to the BBC, the owners of the prize-winning Irish setter Thendara Satisfaction, known as Jagger, say there is "no doubt" that Jagger died after being poisoned while at Crufts last week.
Jagger and co-owner Aleksandra Lauwers returned to their home in Belgium after Jagger placed second in his competition last Thursday, and 26 hours after leaving Crufts he had died after eating what his owner's believe was poisoned beef, saying "There's no doubt that the dog was maliciously poisoned", adding:
"I don't believe in my heart of hearts that this was another competitor or anyone involved in the dog world. I can only imagine that it was a random act that somebody premeditated and wanted to cause total distress at the best dog show in the world. It's not unknown for people to do things like this. He was a typical Irish Setter, totally trustworthy and so loved. We are devastated"
Crufts organisers The Kennel Club have shared their sympathies with the families of Jagger, saying they were "deeply shocked and saddened to hear that Jagger the Irish setter died" but we were waiting until the full toxicology report was published before they can confirm the cause of death.
Meanwhile Jagger's co-owner, Leiceister-based breeder Dee Milligan-Bott posted on Facebook about the incident.
In short, people are the worst.
