It's true that much of Trump's presidency to date has felt farcical enough to be considered source material for an episode of 'Veep' - but his latest bungled public appearance takes the biscuit.
The US president attempted to conduct a teleconference with Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto about a trade deal, but technical difficulties prevented the call from taking place. No big deal there.
However, when some wiseguy genius Arlen Parsa cut the footage from the Oval Office with the closing credits of 'Veep', it all came together perfectly.
Watch it below:
so just as an experiment I put the president's ~supremely~ awkward oval office moment to the @VeepHBO closing credits theme song just now. uhh it works v well. pic.twitter.com/uWO5d7EVTF

'Veep' star Julia Louis-Dreyfus also agreed:
This experiment is a success. https://t.co/IK1H6jLUTs

Funnily enough, it also works brilliantly - in fact, arguably even better - with the music from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', too:
UM YOU GUYS it works with the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme song too, this is amazing pic.twitter.com/0P0Kkobcam

If only he really was a figment of Armando Iannucci's imagination...
