In an effort to help people at home understand the devastation caused by the recent earthquake in Nepal, Goal have released a visualisation of what Dublin's O'Connell Street would look like if it were hit by an event on a similar scale.
The death toll and the shocking images coming out of the country are proof enough of the sheer power of the earthquake, but this image, which will be displayed on O'Connell Street today, helps to bring the message home.
The billboard advertisement displays what O'Connell Street would look like if the earthquake had hit here, rather than Nepal, and hopes to encourage people to make a donation to the ongoing relief effort.
Speaking about the campaign to The Journal, Goal CEO Barry Andrews said "today's posters are part of a wider campaign by GOAL to keep the Nepal earthquake – and other major crises like the conflicts in Syria, South Sudan and Ukraine, the battle to overcome Ebola in West Africa, and many other global emergencies – firmly in the public conscious."
