Yup, you read that right, some creep is breaking into people's homes at night and tickling their feet while they sleep. It's enough to give you insomnia for the rest of your life.
According to Boston.com, the long believed to be myth of the Tickler turns out to be real after being encountered at least 10 times around Chestnut Hill, Mass. according to police reports, with three students falling victim to him April 7 alone. 'This is no myth,' said Sergeant Michael O’Hara. 'It’s happening.'
Described as 'a 5-foot-8-inch black male in dark clothing and a hoodie', the Tickler seems to have no interest in stealing anything from his victims, with the roommate of one, Teddy Raddell, saying 'The guy didn’t take anything and there were laptops and wallets out in the main room'. Terry woke up to the sound of someone running down his stairs at 5am and thought his roommate 'had fallen down the steps but then he started yelling. I got up and he said that he had woken up to someone touching his feet.'
Daniel Marenzi, who had his encounter in October, thought that it was just a friend messing with him, saying: 'I thought my friend was just trying to annoy me, but I soon realized it wasn’t anyone I knew. I freaked out and sat up but he was already on the way out.'
Another student Jake Barrows had a near-miss when he woke up at 3.45am on April 7th and 'Someone was standing at the end of the bed, and by the time I realized there was someone really there, he was booking it right out my door. When I was finally out of bed and following, he was out the back door.' Barrows has understandably not slept there since.
And we're never going to sleep again.
