It's been a while since Sadie Frost got a mention. In fact, the last time I recall making reference to her was in May 2008, when her then boyfriend - Towers of London bassist Kristian Marr - effectively broke into Amy Winehouse's garage to have a kip: "He couldn't wake her (Amy) so he forced his way into her garage to bed down for the night - before cops were called to evict him. The officers couldn't raise Amy either, so dragged grubby muso Kristian off to the cop shop. When they offered to take him to Sadie's, he said: 'Er no, I don't think she will be too pleased'."

Anyway, Sadie has since washed that cretin out of her hair, and is now going out with former model/film company boss James Gooding. At 37, he's ten years her junior. He sounds like quite the catch, and certainly an upgrade from the 2008 garage invader. Then imagine our surprise to hear that she's (allegedly) beating him.

The 47-year-old actress is said to have been involved in an "after-dinner argument" with Gooding on Sunday night. According to The Sun, police questioned the mother-of-four at her multi-million pound home in Hampstead, north London, and asked her to report to a central London police station.

Sadie - who has son Finlay from her first marriage to Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp and three kids, Rafferty, Rudy and Iris, with second husband Jude Law, who she divorced in 2003 after six years of marriage - returned to her house at 6pm on Sunday. She smiled to waiting photographers but made no comment about the incident.

Police explained: "A woman, aged 47, was arrested on suspicion of common assault. The man did not need hospital treatment."

Sadie has been seeing James, a film company boss, for several months and he previously dated Kylie Minogue for three years. But when the Australian pop star dumped him, he boasted that he had cheated on her with model Sophie Dahl during their relationship, saying: "I've been lucky enough to have made love with many beautiful women but Kylie was a really special relationship. After making love with Sophie I was racked with guilt - so much so that I flew straight back to London."

OK, so he's just another tw*t then. No wonder she lost the rag.
