As one of the biggest presenters in the country, Ryan Tubridy is considering a change of scenery it would seem.
Ryan Tubridy tends to get a lot of flack, be it for his role on The Late Late, or his show on RTÉ's 2fm, which has apparently been losing listeners over the last while. That constant criticism has taken its toll on the presenter, as he admitted that he wouldn't rule out a move to the BBC.
The Irish Mirror report that Tubridy, who filled in for Graham Norton a few weeks back on BBC Radio 2, pulling in six million listeners, could be tempted to make the move across the water. When asked about quitting his role with RTÉ, he said "If you asked me that question a couple of years ago I would have said that was highly unlikely. Now I’m more inclined to rule the option in than out. It very much might happen."
Commenting on the criticism he receives, he added that "it’s not good for your confidence when you keep getting beaten over the head every four months with people saying, ‘He’s a disaster on the radio’. But then you go to London and people say, ‘He’s not that bad’."
Tubridy did say that, were he to make the move, he would probably commute instead of going full-time over there, due to having a young family on home soil.
