Apparently he's not a fan of anyone stepping to his lady friends in anything other than a courteous manner, and when that lady friend just so happens to be Eva Mendes, he really doesn't like it.
According to the New York Post the acting pair were in NYC to promote their upcoming flick The Place Beyond the Pines, and while at a shindig in the Bowery Hotel someone unknown to the Baby Goose decided to call out to Mendes with the appropriately sleazy phrase 'Hey, baby'. Except that we imagine it was a lot more Joey Tribbiani 'Heeeeeeeey, baby', because a witness says that Ryan got all up in the guys face with a very aggressive 'Who are you calling baby?'. And suddenly we feel like we're watching The Notebook all over again.
Now apparently Eva knew the guy and stepped in explaining he was a fashion photographer she'd worked with, which apparently gives you full permission to be a creep, and Ryan settled down and shook the guys hand. But can you imagine the reaction in the room? Mass swooning by all is our guess.
Mendes and Gosling have been an item since they met last September, with Mendes going on most women on the planets hit-list for bagging the Gos. And for also being ridiculously attractive at the age of 39. Yes, Eva Mendes is 39 years old. Let that sink in for a minute while you digest your breakfast in your Gosling-less life. It's just not fair is it?
