Roy Keane has left his role as Assistant Manager with Aston Villa, effective immediately. 

"Ultimately, my roles with Villa and Ireland and combining my commitment to these have become too much. It isn't fair to either Villa or Ireland, so I've made this decision," Keane said.

Paul Lambert, Villa's manager, have said they plan to fill the role as soon as possible. 

Villa are circling the drain, with two points keeping them from the relegation zone.

They square off against Burnley tomorrow in a Premier League fixture.
