Rose McGowan has publicly admonished the planned silent protest at this year's Golden Globes as "hypocrisy."
Singling out Meryl Streep, McGowan said that she and other actresses "happily worked" for Harvey Weinstein. "You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change," said McGowan.
Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa.

Streep previously starred in August: Osage County, on which Weinstein acted as executive producer. It's understood that actresses such as Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong'o, Salma Hayek and many more are expected to take part in the silent protest on January 7th, 2018.
So far, Streep has made no statement on McGowan's comments or the planned protest.
