The sad news of the death of Bill O'Herlihy yesterday hit the entire nation, as people around the country tried to come to grips with the loss of a broadcasting legend who touched so many people.
It has been difficult, in the hours since, to find the words to encapsulate what someone like Bill meant to us all, but last night Roddy Doyle shared a short story on his Facebook page that manages to sum up, at least in part, what people are feeling since the news broke.
