Do you like deeply fattening doughnuts riddled with chocolate, sprinkles and glazed cream?
Congratulations, friends - you're in luck. A report in today's Irish Times confirms that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are headed our way in the very near future. A real estate agent on behalf of the Krispy Kreme franchise has said that the doughnut empire is making its way into Dublin very shortly.
“They’re looking at expanding into Ireland,” said Tim Edwards, the real estate agent acting on behalf of Krispy Kreme. “It’s a priority for them. It’s the next obvious place to go... there’s a real push on.”
No specific locations or timeline has been given as to when we can expect the glazed doughnut goodness to arrive on our shores, but the word is that Liffey Valley and Blanchardstown Shopping Centre are being viewed as possible locations.
The idea is to open a factory shop on 4,700sq ft that's capable of accommodating a drive-thru and has a minimum of 60 car parking spaces.
A drive-thru doughnut shop. Words... should have sent a poet.
