If you’re in need of a mid-week story to give you all the feels, here’s the perfect one.
We all love our pets but fish, compared to dogs and cats, get a hard time and can be branded as not being as loveable.
But some fish owners will really do anything for their watery friends.
Youtuber Taylor Dean recently shared a story about her friend Derek who works at a local aquarium. Last week, Derek was brought a goldfish with a permanent bladder infection that impaired his swimming to the point that he could no longer float, so Derek made a custom wheelchair for the little guy.

Derek told Buzzfeed News how he created the adorable invention: “I got some airline tubing that people usually use in their tank and just placed it around the goldfish. I added some valves to the bottom of it, which acted as a ‘chair’ to prop him up.
"I added weights to the bottom of the ‘chair’ and something to keep him afloat on top (styrofoam), and slowly removed pieces until I achieved just the right buoyancy to make it easy for him to swim around without feeling like he’s dragging around a chair.
The bottom weight is almost equal to the pull on top so it works quite well for him!"
Yesterday, Taylor Dean shared an update on the goldfish, and she shared another one today:
