If we're being honest with ourselves (boss, please look away now), most of us have pulled a sickie at some point in our lives.
Whether it's fake illness, the sudden death of your favourite pet, reeeeaaally bad period pain (girls only, obviously) or whatever other excuse you want to come up with, you usually make sure that it's believable.
However, one student in Newcastle was pretty much upfront with his own excuse for missing work.
The student, known only as 'Ross C', was due in for training at his new job at Filthy's nightclub at 10am, but texted his boss at 3:37am in the morning to let him know that he wouldn't make it in.
The reason? Well, you can read below...
Remarkably, it seems that his honesty has paid dividends as Filthy's posted the fresher's text to their Facebook page and urged the public to vote on the course of action they should take.
Needless to say, most people seem to be willing to give him another chance.
