We're not going to lie, we had no idea what a 'shoey' was until about five minutes ago.
But apparently the ritual of drinking alcohol out of one's shoe in an act of celebration is a pretty common thing. Even a list actors have been getting in on it.
After Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo won the Canadian Grand Prix last night, Patrick Stewart joined him on the winners' podium and so excited was he about the Australian's victory that he asked Ricciardo for his shoe (which must have been quite sweaty post race) and drank champagne out of it.

Patrick Stewart does a Shoey.
Hamilton: "There's a lot of toejam in those."
Stewart: "I don't care - I made the podium for the first time!"— F1 Fanatic (@f1fanatic_co_uk) June 11, 2017
Shoey's are grim, but Sir Pat is a real trooper. Love how thrilled he seemed to be up there on the podium

We're still not convinced that a shoey is all that good for one's health but sure listen, if it's good enough for Patrick Stewart, it's good enough for us.
