Since the Euros are being held in France next year, it made sense to have a French entertainer unveil the ball that will be used in the tournament.
How they landed upon David Guetta is quite another matter, but how and ever - the superstar DJ has done the honours on the match ball called 'beau jeu', which Adidas have been developing for the last 18 months.
Guetta, who is a 'music ambassador' for the tournament, will also provide the soundtrack for the Euros and perform its official anthem at the opening ceremony next June.
"It is incredibly exciting...to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country," he said. "Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this EURO the biggest and most memorable yet."
Will the Irish team get to kick this ball next summer? We'll find out by Monday night… COME ON IRELAND!
