Fine, that might have been a bit harsh. They only deserve the 4th circle, along with Pluto, and Mr. Moneybags.
Jess Jones is a 20-year-old college student at Rutgers University, New Jersey. She works part-time in a restaurant called D’Jais Bar & Grill to help fund her studies and living expenses, like a lot of us have during those years. The only difference is, in America the people serving you food don't get a minimum wage like us, and rely on tips to pay the bills.
Jess only makes $2.50 an hour, so you can imagine her frustration when she collected the receipt from one of her tables that she spent well over an hour serving, only to find the tip section empty, apart from this message.
She then took to Facebook to voice her annoyance, "even though they did wait an hour to eat, they remained satisfied with filled drinks and proper notice that the kitchen was a bit busier than normal.
"Most of my paychecks are less than pocket change because I have to pay taxes on the tips I make. I need tips to pay my bills. All waiters do. We spend an hour or more of our time befriending you, making you laugh, getting to know you, and making your dining experience the best it can be. We work hard, and we really do care".
This is probably just a storm in a teacup, but I've a feeling anyone who's ever worked in the service industry feels her pain. The town Mayor, Matt Doherty, even weighed in on the subject by posting on Jess' Facebook comment "this is ridiculous", although we didn't need him to tell us that, Tarantino did a great of that back in 92.
