There are generally two ways that celebrities like to address rumours about their private life.

One way is to issue a statement through their spokesperson to firmly deny the rumour. The other is to remain silent on the matter and hope it goes away.

Then there's Chris Hemsworth's way, which is to tag the offending publication in an Instagram post and make them look very silly.

The Thor star and his actress wife Elsa Pataky were the subject of 'marriage trouble' speculation in an Australian news outlet recently. The report, which was picked up by other media outlets, suggested that Pataky had moved back to her native Spain with the couple's three children after Hemsworth was spotted without his wife at the AFL Grand Final (we know, imagine going to a sporting event without your partner?).

However the rumoured split was news to the couple themselves and they expertly trolled the offending magazine on Hemsworth's Instagram page overnight.

Well played folks. Well played.
