With the ready accessibility of the internet and apps now, we can readily admit that there are times when we think we know everything. As a result, we feel bad for our parents, an older generation that just don’t get new technology. However, they’ll always have resources that will take us down a peg.
Recently Chris Holcomb, the chief meteorologist at WXIA-TV in Atlanta, had a text exchange with his 18-year-old daughter Claire.
Chris had just reported with confidence that there was a high chance of snow showers in his area. He stepped off set and received a text from his daughter saying she didn’t trust his newscast because an app said snow was not in the forecast.
Holcomb was, as you can imagine, pretty appalled that his daughter would challenge him with an app. “I just rolled my eyes and replied with ‘thanks,’” he told Buzzfeed. However, he decided to not leave it alone, and instead added the following:

The texts were shared on Twitter and the post has now been shared over 51,000 times.
People were pretty delighted with the retort:

@ChrisHolcomb 1 point for daughter, 10 points for dad 😂

And best of all, a number of weather reporters have joined in on the banter. Will Stafford, weekend weather anchor at WSET-TV said:
@ChrisHolcomb Best. Reply. Ever.

Broadcast meteorologist Jim Cantore tweeted:
@ChrisHolcomb @MichaelRLowry AI have to smile and shake my head at the same time.

KBTX chief meteorologist Shel Winkley and WAAY31 chief meteorologist respectively tweeted:

@ChrisHolcomb @simpsonwhnt I need to remember that response.

By the way, Holcomb told Buzzfeed News that it did, in fact, snow.
