Paris Jackson has testified in her father Michael Jackson's wrongful death lawsuit via video link as the 15-year-old aspiring actress is currently recuperating in hospital following a failed suicide attempt earlier this month. Despite her current medical condition, Paris was still required to give evidence in the legal battle that the Jackson family have brought against AEG Live in relation to the King of Pop's death.
Paris' legal guardian, her grandmother Katherine Jackson, and other family members have brought the lawsuit against the company as they claim concert promoter failed to properly investigate Conrad Murray - who is currently serving four years imprisonment for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael (who died from a Propofol overdose) and has lost his medical licence - before entrusting Michael to his care.
AEG defence lawyer Jessica Stebbins Bina played a live clip of Paris from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, revealing why Michael fired their former nanny, Grace Rwaramba.
Paris said: 'My dad didn't like her ... she was sneaky. She wasn't an honest person and lied a lot. One time when me and my brother were really young, before Blanket was born. She would call the hotel and say she was his wife and they'd let her in, and he'd wake up and she'd be like in his bed ... She was obsessed with him. That's what he told us ... kind of freaky.'
When the teen was asked why her father didn't fire the nanny permanently, Paris replied, 'He did. He sent her to India. She kept coming back.'
Lawyers for the Jackson family - who insisted the teen wouldn't be forced to testify - believe pressure from AEG contributed to the King of Pop's death in June 2009, just two weeks before he was about to embark on his 'This Is It' residency at The O2 arena in London.
Paris' 16-year-old brother Prince is also listed as a potential witness in the trial, which is in its' sixth week.
