Ozzy admitted that he was ‘mortified’ by his addiction and the effect it was having on his family.
The Black Sabbath frontman reportedly had an affair with celebrity hair stylist Michelle Pugh, which led to wife Sharon splitting up with him in May.
The Osbourne matriarch recently called him a ‘dirty dog’ but acknowledged that the two are reconciling: ‘I can’t speak for him, but for me, yes, I forgive.’
In a statement released by his reps, Ozzy acknowledged the devotion of Sharon, saying ‘I thank God that my incredible wife is at my side to support me.’
He said: ‘Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction. I’m sorry if Ms. Pugh took our sexual relationship out of context. I’d also like to apologize to the other women I have been having sexual relationships with.’
The musician, who also has a new show touring the world with his son Jack, said that media scrutiny did him good as it spurred him into action: ‘Out of bad comes good. Since the press exposed this, I have gone into intense therapy.’
