The designers of a new device that claims to be able "slow down ageing", "lift depression" and "tackle cancer" might want to reconsider having Noel Edmonds associated with their product after he made a rather foolish comment to a cancer sufferer.
The Deal or No Deal host was sending out a number of tweets this morning promoting the miraculous product that is available to consumers for the reasonable (well, reasonable if it ACTUALLY worked) price of £2,315.
A simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer . Yep tackles cancer! pic.twitter.com/krL9sXlpby

Just looked at latest stats showing very soon 50% of us will get cancer. @EMP_Pad is one way of reducing your risk #selfhealth

However there were some Twitter users who were having none of it.
I think Noel Edmonds should stick to what he's good at. Presenting quiz shows and beard trimming, rather than curing cancer.

Rather than ignore the tweet, which he wasn't even tagged in, Edmonds made a very ill advised suggestion to Vaun Earl (who notes in his Twitter bio that he's suffering from cancer of the kidney) that his bad health could be linked to his negative attitude.
Vaun Earl was not impressed with Edmonds' assumption and hit back.
Wow! How do you know I have a negative attitude. You have no idea who I am. #patronising #cancer https://t.co/qwHBvowFXR

Needless to say, there were many others on Twitter who weren't happy with Edmonds' comments.
@NoelEdmonds @VaunEarl WHAT??? Do you really suggest cancer is caused by negative thoughts? I truly hope not #thoughtless #cruel

@NoelEdmonds @EMP_Pad Noel this is at best silly and at worst really dangerous. You're playing with people's lives here without any evidence
