We've seen plenty of technological innovations announced already this week at CES that may well be making our lives better in the near future, but few of them are as exciting as this.
That's right, Nike have confirmed that they will be making the shoes from Back to the Future available for purchase in 2015, complete with power laces that will tighten up the shoes for you.
Of course, 2015 is the year that Marty McFly travelled to in Back to the Future II, so it all comes together nicely as their release was confirmed at a trade show in California earlier this week, according to the dedicated sneaker site Nice Kicks. Tinker Hatfield of Nike did mention that there are still "11 and two thirds months left in 2015", and refused to be any more specific on the release date of the shoe, which will be known as the Nike Air MAG.
Nike did auction of 1,500 paris of the shoes a while back to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which funds research in to Parkinson's Disease, but they plan on making this a wider commercial release, which may well prove to be incredibly popular. We certainly want a pair anyway, it's the 21st Century, we shouldn't have to tie our own laces anymore.
