A federal lawsuit has been filed against the CIA this week by the American Civil Liberties Union, after three plaintiffs claimed one of the agency's interrogation techniques was a form of torture.
The technique supposedly involved playing chunks of heavy metal music at incredible volumes, with the Westlife song My Love being played sporadically in between. One of the victims claims the song was targeted at him, as he was a newlywed at the time.
The 82-page suit was written on behalf of two former prisoners, and a family member of another prisoner who died while in custody.
According to the suit, the prisoners were also subjected to detained in pitch-dark cells that smelled of "rotting seaweed", and doused with ice-cold water.
After being imprisoned for five years, without being charged, one of the captives, Suleiman Abdullah, was set free.
