Los Angeles prosecutors have confirmed that they will not be bringing charges against Russell Crowe over a scuffle with Azealia Banks in a Hollywood hotel earlier this year.
Banks accused Crowe of grabbing her by the neck, calling her a racial slur before and spitting on her before throwing her out of his hotel room on October 15th. Banks was attending a dinner party hosted by Crowe as a guest of the rapper RZA.
Several witnesses stated that Banks was either drunk or high on drugs, and acting aggressively before the confrontation. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office determined that Crowe threw Banks out of his hotel room after the singer picked up a glass and threatened people with it.
They rejected Banks battery charge filing due to her actions and lack of visible injuries. They also stated that a jury would likely find "the physical escort out of the room was justified to prevent the imminent violence threatened by Banks."
Neither Crowe or Banks have publicly commented on DA's decision not to bring charges against the Oscar winner.
