One of the stars of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has quit Twitter in the wake of James Gunn being fired from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’. Gunn’s brother Sean, who appears as Kraglin in the series, took to Twitter over the weekend to write an impassioned response to the scandal, while his co-stars have also now taken to social media to express support for Gunn.
Michael Rooker, who played outlaw Yondu Udonta in the first two films in the franchise, announced in an angry sounding post on Twitter he was leaving the platform.
“This account will be inactive after today,” he wrote. “We’re very tired & upset over the ongoing BULLSHIT… neither I nor my rep will use Twitter again. Twitter sucks and I want nothing to do with it. Thank you to all who gave kind words & support. See you on Instagram.”

While Rooker doesn’t specifically cite Gunn’s firing in his exit post, recent events would indicate that that’s the reason. Moreover, Rooker’s Twitter profile photo shows the actor posing with Gunn.
Cast members Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff have also taken to the platform to express their thought on the events:
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

It’s been a challenging weekend I’m not gonna lie. I’m pausing myself to take everything in before I speak out of term. I just want everyone to know I love ALL members of my GOTG family. Always will.

I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this..@JamesGunn is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met. He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. Im NOT ok with what’s happening to him

Love to every single member of my GOTG family.

Just to clarify, I'll speak more on this later but just wanted to make sure that was out there. Love to you all.

In case you missed it, Gunn was let go by Disney after a number of far-right commentators resurfaced decade-old tweets from Gunn's account which dealt with jokes about pedophilia and rape.
Fans have started an online petition urging Disney to re-hire the director. At the time of writing, the petition has 178,000 signatures.
