“He made it crystal clear to me through his representative that he would carry out his public duty as a citizen and resident of this community,” said Timothy C. Evans, chief judge of the Cook County Circuit Court. The Obama’s own a home in the Kenwood area of Chicago’s southside.
The former president is no stranger to court rooms. The Harvard law graduate worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago from 1992 until 2004.
