It's not like Katy Perry to enjoy a cavort with controversy.
Seemingly more than 50,000 Muslims have signed a petition calling for her Dark Horse video to be banned due to it's "portrayal of blasphemy."
According to Heatworld, Shazad Iqbal filed the petition after taking "particular offence to a scene where Katy zaps a potential suitor wearing a necklace with the word Allah written in Arabic."
The following accompanies the petition: "At 01:15 into the video Dark Horse; a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah', which is the arabic word for God. Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames."
So far there has been signatures from people residing in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Qatar, with most of the signatories coming from Britain.
