Siri is a great tool and one of the things that most makes us feel like we're living in the future, and now it's solving crimes too.
Well, not entirely, but at least helping to send a criminal to the big house if the evidence that police have gathered from it proves to be enough. 20-year-old murder suspect and Florida resident Pedro Bravo is accused of kidnapping and murdering his roommate, Christian Aguilar, in 2012, and it seems that he turned to his iPhone for advice on where to hide the body.
Authorities have uncovered plenty of data from his mobile device, including the fact that he opened up Siri to tell the digital assistant that "I need to my hide my roommate", in the hopes that it might have a response. Siri did respond with "What kind of place are you looking for?" and presented four options, according to The Independent.
Developers have programmed the answers to some silly questions into Siri such as "Do I make you horny?" for the laugh, and according to The Verge, the question about hiding a body was one it used to have a similar funny answer for, although that has been changed recently.
The data from the phone that they were able to gather also included information on Bravo's location, some of which contradicts his account of his whereabouts on the night of the murder, and showed that he used the flashlight on the phone nine times in a half an hour period, which police are saying he used to help him hide the body in the woods.
