Wowsers. That's impressive... That's almost as impressive as him choosing to buy the very understated Golf GTI - as opposed to a few Lambos. Then again, he probably has a secret Bat Cave garage filled with a Lotus, a few Maseratis, a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, and that car from Sweden that's so expense it's not even for sale.
If that secret garage doesn't exist, at least he got a hoodie by way of thanks from the kind folk at Volkswagen - and just a smidge of publicity in the process.
But back to his generous charity donations. Due to the amount Zuckerberg donated last year, he has been crowned the "largest donor on the US public record for 2013." Or, "Mark Huggerberg", if you will.
Sky News reports that "Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan donated 18 million Facebook shares, valued at more than $970m. The shares were given to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, which specialises in the investment and management of charitable funds. The donation was revealed by The Chronicle of Philanthropy magazine, which publishes an annual list of the 50 most generous Americans. The magazine reported that the top 50 donors made contributions in 2013 worth $7.7bn, plus further pledges of $2.9bn."
The magazine also states that 2013 was the first year to see large donations come from "living contributors", which means the world economy is on the up. Yaaaay! Now, if only they could stop the fires in Australia and the abundancy of rain in this neck of the woods, everything would be only rapeh'.
