According to multiple reports, actress-comedian Mindy Kaling is pregnant with her first child.

Kaling is the creator and star of Hulu sitcom The Mindy Project and is also known for her work on The US Office, on which she starred and also worked as writer, executive producer, and occasionally director.

She next stars in Disney’s live-action, fantasy flick A Wrinkle in Time and is also one of the lovely ladies of the highly anticipated Ocean’s Eight reboot.

The pregnancy was “an unexpected surprise,” an insider told E! News, which first reported the news. Sources also confirmed the news to People, though the actress’s rep declined to comment.

Kaling had previously made it clear that she wanted to have kids, "maybe imminently" to E! She told Yahoo! Style back in 2015, “I think I’ve decided that unlike everything else in my life, I’m going to be fast and loose about kids. I’m going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen.”

She added, “I’m not cavalier about who I would have a kid with. But the thing I ask every parent that I really admire, the one comment they all have is that they wish they had kids earlier.”
