It seems that there are a lot more secrets in Hollywood than any of us are aware of.
Following the recent revelation that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been separated and living apart since 2016 - making 'The Slap' incident at the Oscars even more bizarre - it now transpires that another couple that everyone assumed was rock solid have also separated.
Meryl Streep and her husband Don Gummer, who married in 1978, have reportedly been separated for the past six years.
The 74-year-old acting legend married Gummer just six months after her partner, actor John Cazale, died of lung cancer at the age of 42.
She and Gummer, a sculptor, went on to have four children together - Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louisa - but reports in recent days suggested that they have been living apart in recent years. The last time they were spotted together publicly was at the 2018 Oscars.
A spokesperson for Streep confirmed the news, although the actress has not commented on the matter publicly - and she continues to wear her wedding ring, as many have noted.
Their statement noted: "Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than six years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart."
