Melanie Brown AKA Mel B AKA Scary Spice has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband of almost 10 years Stephen Belafonte.
PEOPLE managed to get their hands on divorce papers that reveal that Mel B listed the date of separation as December 28th and has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Madison Brown Belfonte.
She has also requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support.
The couple, who met and married after five months of dating in 2007, have four children: their daughter Madison; Brown’s daughters Angel Iris Murphy Brown and Phoenix Chi Gulzar from her relationships with Eddie Murphy and Jimmy Gulzar; and Giselle Belafonte from his relationship with Nicole Contreras.
Mel was forced to deny rumours of a split last year, telling the Mirror: "My husband is my best friend and we know each other so well that we know what we are getting. But there are always rumours we are splitting up."
"Stephen is a bit crazy, but then I am a bit crazy, so it kind of evens itself out."
