Mel B has been forced to cancel a book signing in New York, due to having surgery on her ribs and hand.
How the incident happened is still unknown, but having two broken ribs and a severed right hand sounds quite painful.
Mel B took to her Instagram page to share the unfortunate news with her fans, especially to those in New York who were due to see the singer at a book signing later today. Her new book, 'Brutally Honest', was released in November.
Mel B said "Thank you to all the wonderful nurses DR's and my amazing surgeon for the care and expertise given to me here at the hospital I’ve been staying at, suffering 2 broken ribs, a severed right hand, needing emergancy care."
She continued, "to having had to have over a 3 hr surgery to repair the damage hence the purple sling, I’ve had to unfortunately cancel my book signing today in NY.
"I’m absolutely gutted but I can assure you it WILL happen at a later date, I promise, but for now my right arm/hand is all stitched up and I’m trying to keep still to heal my broken ribs, ohhh the pain, but I’m in super safe hands with the care of everyone here at the hospital!!!!! Thank you all for understanding, I love you all."
Mel B was later joined in hospital by fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, and Melanie Chisholm, who recorded a Boomerang from the hospital bed. She captioned it with "When your besties show up in hospital with hugs, laughter and A LOT of love, ahhhh I love my Spice Girls yipppeee."
Let's hope Mel B makes a full recovery before the Spice Girls tour next year. The girl group will be belting out hits such as 'Say You'll Be There' in Croke Park next May.
