You really wouldn't want to be the name called out at graduation after a Grammy award-winning artist. The rapper got an incredible reception when presented with her degree from the Texas Southern University this weekend.

The artist earned a bachelor of science degree in health administration. It was a goal she set to honour both her late mother, who died in 2019, and her grandmother.

"I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed," she told People last year.

The 26 year-old tweeted out over the weekend, "Good morning hotties !!! It's graduation dayyyy."

A link was available to watch the ceremony live on stream, which thousands of fans watching along. She was among almost 800 students graduating that day.

In addition to finishing her degree, she has also been helping fund the degrees of others. She has been sponsoring a full-ride scholarship to the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports and Entertainment for students interested in the music industry.

"Getting an education is incredibly important to me. I still have academic goals that I want to achieve, so if I can use my resources to open doors and create opportunities for at least one student, then it’s a victory," the rapper said in a press release at the time.
